Welcome to
the Cumberland University Office of Information Technology Helpdesk. On
these pages we have laid out all the information that you will need to
ensure that your computing experience on the CU Residential Network (CU
ResNet) and in our six computer laboratories.
As new information becomes
available and/or students request additional information, we will be adding
to this page, so please check back often for updates.

The Cumberland University Residential Network (CU ResNet) is designed
to provide on-campus resident students with access to the Internet for
the purposes of research and communication. Every student residing in
the CU dorms has access to the ResNet. Minimum computer hardware requirements
are a Pentium (or equivalent) processor, 32Mb of RAM, and a Network Interface
Card (NIC). The network supports all major operating systems (Microsoft
Windows, Mac OS, Linux, etc.) that use the TCP/IP networking protocol.
All you have to do is set the computer to accept an IP address using Dynamic
Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and plug into the outlet in your dorm
room. It's that simple!
